Step by step switching Blackberry handheld

Posted by skinlaptop on March 20, 2009

So after 6 months stick with Curve (4.2) I decided to change to Javelin (4.6). Considering 1gb of memory, I don’t need to do prior delete every hour, soft reset or hard reset. The 3.2MP camera, atomic ball (black trackball) is more suitable for me (it won’t turn dirty after several months of used).

The 4.6 OS means you’ve got installed video camera, office uttilities (however you need to upgrade to premium to create a new sheet), and you can save the contact as 081****** or 021**** no more +62**** which is quite annoying on the first hand. Don’t ask me why I’m not upgrading my OS before, it’s a classic matters (hardcore use, and it’s take lot’s of time, also courage to do so lol)

Switching handheld is quite simple though:
1. Backup your data using DM or use swicthing handheld facillity
2. Be patient it’s takes time, well, depends on how much data you have in the ol’ handheld
3. After finished, open the SIM card, put in the new handheld
4. Plug the USB cable of your new handheld to your PC (if you choose switching handheld option in the DM you have to plug them both in the first place) and do the restore procedure.
5. Finish
6. Log in to your BB web operator
7. You’ll be asked about changing PIN, klik YES
8. Done.
9. If problem exist try to send service book

Google Latitude: An In-Depth Look

So this is the idea, you can track your friends location if they use blackberry (iphone/other gadgets) and latitude. Would it be a great idea to track your husband/wife location or turn out to be creepy? I’m thinking about something else, maybe a great help when you’ve got emergency like accident, (knock knock knock), or lost your smart phone.

Web Registration

You just need a google account and install a latitude OTA. After that wait for a few minutes to get start tracking your location.

Privacy

You can also set privacy like in yahoo messenger, you can be invisible, or just share a little detail. If you wan’t to trick some of your friends, you can set your location in Hawaii or Los Angeles (isn’t that fun?)

Add Friends

Add some friends from your contact or just simply add new email address, and voila, they’ll show up in your screen.

Quirks and Issues

Photobucket

Latitude is a brand-new service, and it’s not without issues. But it’s difficult for me to tell how many of these issues are the software’s fault and how many are the result of the phone’s underpowered GPS hardware. Mobile phones have long suffered from inaccurate GPS readings, resulting in all kinds of headaches with turn-by-turn directions and other basic location features.

It’s not surprising, then, that Latitude often reports strange and inconsistent locations for its users. In my case, it generally showed my friends that I was several blocks–and sometimes several miles–from my actual position. Furthermore, it often bounced me around from one second to the next, showing me at my house one second, five blocks east the next, and then in a field a mile to the west a few seconds after that.

So while Latitude is an impressive little tool for keeping in touch with your friends, coworkers, and employees in real time, it’s not exactly reliable if you’re hoping to track them down to within a city block. Of course, anyone who is worried about privacy probably won’t mind these little discrepancies at all.
